Jessie Kampman joins 87KNOTS
Kitefoil world champion Jessie Kampman is working with 87KNOTS
Jessie Kampman and 87KNOTS are joining forces. From today, the reigning kitefoil world champion has 87KNOTS looking after her management, partnerships, press and media. One point of contact for everything that happens off the water, so she can focus on what has to happen on it: Los Angeles 2028.
Who is Jessie Kampman
Kampman (2000) became kitefoil world champion in Cagliari on 5 October 2025. In a final sailed in hard gusts off the Sardinian coast she went down just short of the finish, then sailed the deciding race unchallenged to take the title. She is the first Dutch woman to win it.
Born in Crawley, with Dutch, British, French and South African roots, she raced for France for years, taking silver at the 2022 and 2024 European Championships and bronze at the 2024 World Championships. Since July 2025 she has been sailing for the Netherlands. She is part of Team Allianz.
"I deliberately chose a management team that knows the sport from the inside. I do not have to explain to Bart what a race week looks like, or why a partner cannot simply put their logo on my kite. They think with me about the long road to 2028 and take the work around it off my hands. That is exactly what I need."— Jessie Kampman
Why we are pleased
Kitefoiling is young, fast and visual. In Los Angeles it will be on the Olympic programme for the second time. For partners that is a stage still to be built rather than one that is already full. Together with Jessie we will build that proposition, tell her story and organise the media attention that goes with it.
"Jessie did something few athletes manage: she changed flags and became world champion within a year. That takes character. We make sure everything around it holds, from contracts to spokesmanship, so she only has to worry about being faster than the rest."— Bart Salemans, 87KNOTS
European Championship
This week, Jessie will compete at the European Championship in Akyaka, Turkey. Kampman: “It has been a long season. I’m quite tired and looking forward to a period of rest, but we know why we are here. We have specific areas we want to work on this week. I want to gain more experience competing against the other women and build on the great year we have had as a team. The goal is to finish the season with another podium finish.”
The qualification rounds will take place from September 7 to 9. The Final Series will follow on September 10 and 11. The top ten men and women will qualify for the Medal Series on Saturday, September 12. The competition then progresses through a quarterfinal and semifinal to the Grand Final. The first kitefoiler to score two match points will be crowned European champion.
For media inquiries, interview requests, and partnership discussions involving Jessie Kampman, 87KNOTS is the point of contact.
